Does fear hold you back from an action and ideally knowing your hindrances are real? Fear is a mixed feeling of reverence and dread. Why should you overcome fear? Here are four most scalable reasons to conquer fear and help enhance a tolerance for rejection and discomfort. 1. Fear suppresses your potential Fear prevents personal growth and progression in life. It limits you to live your best life and become a better person. Overcoming fear expands the opportunities and possibilities that surround our lives. When you let it drive your feelings, thoughts, behaviours and decisions, you reduce your mind to a slave of fear. The state is very disempowering; everything you do or every decision you make is a result of fear, rather than your desire. If you entrench off in the land of fear, you can never achieve higher levels of consciousness. 2. Fear exists only in your mind Why let yourself be scared by a scarecrow which only looks scary but harmless? Fear is similar. It is based on the danger perceived in your mind. The feeling arises when the brain formulates a perception that non-physical threats are actual dangers, which is false. For instance, most people fear public speaking which is physically harmless. Most people develop the thought of people judging them, slipping up and the embarrassment that results. These thoughts and fears exist only in your mind. 3. Fear wastes your energy Fear is irrational, and a squander of mental and emotional strength. Every time you surge in fear, you nurture more logical non-constructive thoughts that feed your energy. Relax and serenely process the situation and intelligently identify solutions. Fear significantly triggers adrenaline that increases physical rather than mental performance. Adrenaline stresses your body and results to jittery nerves. Overcoming your fears ensues into more positive feelings and sound thoughts, which progress into positive aftereffects. 4. Fear is pervasive Fear is prevalent. Deal with fear, do not let it permeate and patronize in everything you do. Running and eluding fear gives you a delusion of security for a short moment. No matter how you run, you are just living in the confinement of fear. A small acorn ultimately becomes an enormous oak tree. Learn to deal and overcome it., or cringe in its existence to become a fragment of who you could be. Overcoming your fears helps you understand that fears are illogical and entirely obliterates them. You are left emancipated to achieve your highest potential and chase your desires with less hesitation. F alse E motions A ppearing R eal

The modern world has brought people a lot of preoccupation. It made living faster yet complicated, it made interactions wider yet shorter, and it made communication easier yet brief. Despite the so many preoccupations brought by media created by people, there are also those who would want to get back to their original self and connect with it in the most basic possible means. One of these is self-hypnosis. Defined as a "process involving a hypnotist and a subject who agrees to be hypnotized," self-hypnosis is characterized by intense concentration, extreme relaxation, and high suggestibility to both parties. Experts say that the self-hypnosis is versatile. In fact, its versatility can be quite unparalleled. Today, self-hypnosis can take place in various social settings and continue to change social settings dramatically. Unlike before where settings of self-hypnosis are quite limited, today the sessions between the hypnotist and the subject can take place in common places such as clinics, showrooms, classrooms, and even to open spaces and establishments. Other experts use self-hypnosis in order to recover suppressed memories of people who have had bad experiences to help them overcome the problems that they are dealing with right now while other psychologists and hypnotherapists use hypnosis to discover hidden truths from a person's ordinary consciousness. This is done by tapping into the unconscious state or mind where information is believed to dwell. GETTING INTO SELF HYPNOSIS Many perceive that self-hypnosis as a trance-like altered state of a person's consciousness while others believe that it is a way of accessing a person's unconscious mind that is filled to suppressed memories, repressed multiple personalities, various magical insights, and unforgettable memories of the past life. But, in the world of psychology, self-hypnosis is considered as altered state and gateway to knowledge about one's self and the universe he or she is living in. Today, self-hypnosis is not only used for treating various behavioural problems but also for self-enhancement and improvement. If you are planning to get into hypnosis or self-hypnosis, there are so many things you need to consider. Experts say that self-hypnosis is one of the excellent ways of taking control over one's life. In fact, it can be used as means of disciplining yourself if you want to achieve a specific goal. For some people, self-hypnosis is advisable if you want to achieve something and utmost dedication and discipline is needed. Hypnosis introduction can benefit those who would want to lose or gain weight; those who want to boost their self-confidence; and those who would want to overcome their fears or phobias because it can help them contemplate a lot on the things that they need to do. If you are planning to get a course on self-hypnosis, you can expect that it can teach you to reach your subconscious mind through bypassing your conscious mind as well as how to communicate with your subconscious mind, methods of creating your own hypnosis scripts and visualizations, how to design and use affirmations, the effects and use of symbols on the subconscious mind, how to understand which methods will be most effective for you personally, deepening your trance state and using visualizations, adapting to scripts to suit various problems, how to change your personal history and plan a more effective future and how to understand your dreams as well.

Stress wreaks havoc on the mind and body. For example, psychological stress is associated with greater risk for depression, heart disease and infectious diseases. But, until now, it has not been clear exactly how stress influences disease and health. A research team led by Carnegie Mellon University's Sheldon Cohen has found that chronic psychological stress is associated with the body losing its ability to regulate the inflammatory response. Published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the research shows for the first time that the effects of psychological stress on the body's ability to regulate inflammation can promote the development and progression of disease. "Inflammation is partly regulated by the hormone cortisol and when cortisol is not allowed to serve this function, inflammation can get out of control," said Cohen, the Robert E. Doherty Professor of Psychology within CMU's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Cohen argued that prolonged stress alters the effectiveness of cortisol to regulate the inflammatory response because it decreases tissue sensitivity to the hormone. Specifically, immune cells become insensitive to cortisol's regulatory effect. In turn, runaway inflammation is thought to promote the development and progression of many diseases. Cohen, whose ground-breaking early work showed that people suffering from psychological stress are more susceptible to developing common colds, used the common cold as the model for testing his theory. With the common cold, symptoms are not caused by the virus - they are instead a "side effect" of the inflammatory response that is triggered as part of the body's effort to fight infection. The greater the body's inflammatory response to the virus, the greater is the likelihood of experiencing the symptoms of a cold. In Cohen's first study, after completing an intensive stress interview, 276 healthy adults were exposed to a virus that causes the common cold and monitored in quarantine for five days for signs of infection and illness. Here, Cohen found that experiencing a prolonged stressful event was associated with the inability of immune cells to respond to hormonal signals that normally regulate inflammation. In turn, those with the inability to regulate the inflammatory response were more likely to develop colds when exposed to the virus. In the second study, 79 healthy participants were assessed for their ability to regulate the inflammatory response and then exposed to a cold virus and monitored for the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, the chemical messengers that trigger inflammation. He found that those who were less able to regulate the inflammatory response as assessed before being exposed to the virus produced more of these inflammation-inducing chemical messengers when they were infected. "The immune system's ability to regulate inflammation predicts who will develop a cold, but more importantly it provides an explanation of how stress can promote disease," Cohen said. "When under stress, cells of the immune system are unable to respond to hormonal control, and consequently, produce levels of inflammation that promote disease. Because inflammation plays a role in many diseases such as cardiovascular, asthma and autoimmune disorders, this model suggests why stress impacts them as well." He added, "Knowing this is important for identifying which diseases may be influenced by stress and for preventing disease in chronically stressed people." Overcoming fears might appear simple in concept, but actual application of these techniques are never easy, especially for the person directly involved. Depending on the intensity of the fear, some people might be able to confront it themselves while others require the help of others. Nonetheless, it is important that you do something about it. When you are able to successfully overcome your fears, you will open up more opportunities for personal and career growth while also forging more successful relationships. 1 Taking Slow and Steady Steps This is highly suggested for individuals who have difficulty coping with the overwhelming feeling of fear that people often experience. It does not necessarily mean that the fear is so intense as it can be as simple as your fear of being rejected on your request for a date, but it concerns one's inability to take action due to the presence of fear. Hence, take one initial, small step instead of aiming for a big one right away. Being able to do that should provide you enough confidence to take succeeding steps. In order for you to build up courage and make that small step, identifying your fear is essential. Before long, you will realize that your confidence will extend to other areas of your life as well. 2 Find a Motivation Overcoming fears often entail a difficult process that requires time. When this happens, people often can easily get demoralized. One way to keep yourself actively make an effort to combat your fears is by replacing your negative thoughts with ones that motivate. One way to concretize this step is to list down all the benefits that you can get if you decide to make that change, which is to overcome your fears. Seeing all these wonderful benefits that you can enjoy should motivate you to get going in your advocacy to eliminate fear in your life. 3 Changing Perspectives When people suffer from failure or rejection, it often spirals into more negative thoughts that lead to self-destructive behaviours. However, all people go through failure at some point in their lives. This is a reality that you need to understand and be aware of. It is therefore recommended that you change your view about failure and rejection. Instead of letting it demoralize you, use it as a learning process instead where you can pinpoint areas of your life that needs to be improved if success were to be desired. 4 Facing Your Reality Most fears are associated with unpleasant experiences in the past or worries about the future. Therefore, one way you can overcome such fears is to focus on the present. Learn how to make plans and realize them. This is your best bet at succeeding in life and your endeavours, instead of wearing yourself out with worries and fears. If you fail to get yourself out of that situation, you neither fail nor achieve anything. 5 Redefining Your Perceptions of Fear One of the most effective ways to overcome fears is to redefine yourself and how you view fear. You need to actively participate in each of these steps in order to effectively progress in your fight against fear. When you dedicate yourself at these steps, then they will eventually become natural to you. Also, it allows you to see things in a more positive light where fear does not exist.
